Michael fell in love with the Perth lifestyle while studying at Milner International College back in 2005. He grew up close to Zurich, Switzerland, where he also attended Medical School graduating end of 2011. He completed his training in Orthopaedic and Trauma surgery with honours in 2017 and worked as a junior consultant in Lower Limb Sports and Arthroplasty Surgery before moving to Perth with his family for extensive subspecialty post-graduate Fellowship training in January 2019.
He has undertaken a 6 month private Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship (The Joint Studio) before starting the ORFWA Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship end of July 2019 to gain experience in Arthroscopic Reconstruction Surgery. Upon completion of the PSSF program he underwent further 12 months subspecialty training in Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty with Prof Yates and Dr Chris Jones as well as 6 months of Trauma Fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital and 6 months of Trauma Fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital. Following this broad Western Australian subspecialty training he was awarded a consultant position at Rockingham General Hospital in 2022 and continues to work closely with his mentors and colleagues.
